Strong mould smell due to high level of humidity (asthmatics take care). The fog machine has not been used on the latest show, has been abused, I had trouble seeing where I was stepping on my way back from the bar.. that's not OK. Prices on drinks are fine, no problem on that, but I have asked for JD and coke, and I've been served something cheap. One lady from the staff asked at some point the DJ (Olympe) to not smoke at the Dj deck, but she had a vape, plus hundreds of people in the crowd were vaping like old steam train. I could say that the place has pros and cons, but the balance is not there.

Visited here for a gig last week. Really great place. Decent size, not too big not too small. The sound was good! Nice staff and swift service at the bar. Looking forward to other events here!

Excellent gig venue. Sound and lighting first class. Not too large to have a real atmosphere (700 capacity). IDLES (billed as TANGK) were superb in this space

This was the first time I visited Village Underground and it definitely won't be the last. I went to see Jake Shears and it honestly couldn't have been a better venue for a show. The space is intimate though not 'small' and the sound is excellent. There was a huge amount of energy on the night and the Village Underground just soaks it all up and delivers on the experience. If you're looking to see your favourite artists up close, or looking for a good club to hit then this place should be firmly on your radar.

Bar Staff, Security, the music, the crowd were all great. Prices were pretty high for drinks but what you'd maybe expect for a premium London location. The main reason for only leaving 3 stars however is that the venue really needs to sort its ventilation out :/.. There is a damp, mouldy smell from the moment you walk in and it feels like you're breathing it in most of the night with no form of ventilation .. surely this can't be healthy :(... I had read a couple of other reviews saying this and thought they were maybe exaggerating or just extra sensitive but it's honestly not good and I can't imagine it would be ok for anyone with respiratory issues. If this could somehow be sorted it would definitely be worth 4-5 stars.
